I strive everyday to be super mom... a super human. My goal is to, as Bernard Shaw put it, "be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no "brief candle" to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and want to make burn as brightly as possible before handing it on for future generations."

AMAZING HONOR

When I began this journey as Mrs. Woodlands my goal was to make a difference in my community for the benefit of abused and neglected children. Of course when I enter any competition I put my whole heart into it, so I was indescribably pleased to receive the amazing honor of the Mrs. Texas International crown. I also received the following awards:
Physical Fitness
Community Service
Best Interview
NOW A NEW JOURNEY BEGINS.... ON TO CHICAGO!

Mrs. Woodlands

January 1st I started my work as Mrs. Woodlands International. I was determined to make a difference in the community I love so much. I got involved with CASA more intimately than ever and every place I went was an attempt to share the CASA message of child advocacy. In all I made about 20 appearances before the Mrs. Texas competition.
Below are a few of the pictures from some appearances.

I'm Back!!

My last post was WAY back in September, just before hurricane IKE hit. So much has happened since then. It's time to get back in the swing of blogging! The picture is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the damage to our home. Caved in ceilings and mold were the main reasons we were forced to live in an apartment for 2 months. Life was turned upside down temporarily, but through it all we remained grateful. Afterall, there were hundreds of thousands worse off than we were.
